ANGONGOLOOD - our friendly neighbors

ORIGINAL MYTH:
the angongolood looks like a gorilla and lives in the riverbank. It jumps and hugs the unsuspecting victim which it turns into a tree.

THOUGHT BEHIND THE DESIGN:
Instead of giving it gorilla-like features, i gave it an amphibian form. more like a lizard-frog cross breed. it can jump and swim in the water. it can camouflage when swimming near water lettuces.

notice the skin of the creature. some highly colorful frogs contain toxin on their skin; i designed it to have that defense mechanism. in reality, the victims dont trun into a tree, they're paralyzed by the angongolood's toxic phlegm on its skin!
